Danielle leaving, October 16, 2012

We received our first letter from Sister Brownell, she wrote on her first day in the MTC.  As Bruce was cleaning the garage he asked me to read it, of course I couldn't.  What an excited letter she wrote about her first day, her companion Sister Anderson from Sacramento, and what a great time she is having.

Danielle's first email, here are a couple of things she has to share.  I know she is going to make an awesome Missionary.  It is easy to see the love she has for the Gospel and her Savior, Jesus Christ.  I hope she is able to spread her message and helps other come unto Christ.

Let me start off by saying I LOVE THE MTC! I had heard a lot of positives and negatives going into the MTC so when I showed up I decided to make the best of it and enjoy it. One of the main things I have learned while at the MTC is how to truly stay intune to the Holy Ghost. As a missionary it is my purpose to Invite OTHERS to come unto christ.

I have learned that the first convert you must have on a mission MUST be YOURSELF!

ACTUALLY funny story. I am rooming with 3 other girls. They each have at least 2 suit cases that are as big/bigger than mine jam packed with stuff. I was the only sister (maybe in the whole MTC) with only 1 case. I felt way cool because I am a sweet packer. :) You taught me well.

Of course, I didn't include the list of items that Danielle has asked me to send to her.  She will be at the MTC in Provo until November 13.   If you are interested in writing her a letter, you can do so by sending mail to the address listed earlier or go through the Dear Elder.com

Early tomorrow morning I shall be heading to the wonderful town of Provo Utah! I will spend one last day with my wonderful "fake" family :) The Reynolds/Gibbons clan is so good to take me in for the day before I am off to the MTC! I shall enter the Missionary Training Center in Provo Utah on Wednesday. I know a few of my friends have asked about communication while I am on a mission. The main communication I will be doing is old school. Yup, letter writing! My MTC address will be

Sister Danielle Elizabeth Brownell
MTC Mailbox # 192
AZ-MESA 1113
2005 N 900 E
Provo, UT 84604-1793

Please feel free to write me. I am not positive how long I will be using that address. It may be 1 week, it could be 4. My fabulous Mother will be updating this blog with Emails I send the family and new addresses.

I just wanted to thank all my friends and family for the wonderful suport you have all been as I have prepared for this day! I have looked forward to this for a long time. People have asked me many times why I decided to serve a mission. I am serving a mission because I love the Lord. It is as simple as that. I can not wait to share my happiness and knowledge of this church with others!

10 Days. 10 Days left to prepare. 10 Days left to say my "see you laters". 10 Days left to be Danielle, rather than Sister Brownell.
In 10 days I will enter the MTC in preparation to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I will serve for approximately 18 months in the Mesa Arizona mission. I simply can't wait! Follow my blog and hear all sorts of news as I serve the wonderful people of Arizona.

This is the Mesa Temple. I will be privileged to be working in the Temple Visitors Center where I will answer questions regarding my religion, the church, even the temple.
